In the month of Ramadan, In Sha Allah, we will have community potluck Iftars every Saturday. Please bring a item to share with your fellow brothers and sisters.
The Islamic Center of Livermore invites the community members to vote on, the following two items, to select the center’s direction for current and future growth.
1. Look for a place and raise enough funds on our own for a new center which may support growth in the community.
2. Form a partnership under the umbrella of MCC where further development will be supported by MCC in locating, fundraising, and purchasing of a new facility for ICL. This new facility will provide funeral services for Tri-Valley and surrounding communities in addition to a regular center for Livermore. ICL will still have its independent board for operations.
The community was recently invited on May 4th to hear the above items in details where an MCC executive committee member came and explained (2). MCC is ready to move forward should the ICL community make a decision on these items.
Please do your best to come and let us know what your decision is by choosing item 1 OR item 2.
Details of our partnership will need to be ironed out once we know the direction the community would like to take.
The voting will be held on May 30th after Isha prayers.
First day of Ramadan is Thursday May 17th in sha Allah. Taraween prayer will be Wednesday at 9:55 PM after Isha.
It was narrated from ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Umar that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) spoke of Ramadaan and said: “Do not fast until you see the new moon, and do not break the fast until you see it, and if it is covered then complete the month.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1906; Muslim, 1080.
